Provides direction and leadership in the care of patients; functions as a resource person to allied health professionals and the community; interprets nurse midwifery practice to allied health professionals and the community; and strives to improve nursing practice through clinical education research and the nursing process.The Certified Nurse Midwife, functioning with collaborative medical direction, assumes the responsibility for direct supervision and management of selected normal patients throughout the maternity cycle, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, family planning and well-woman health care phases.
Required:
- Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Michigan
- Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives
- Certified to practice nurse midwifery in the State of Michigan.
