Midwest Fertility Specialists is Indiana’s largest fertility practice with over 30 years of experience and 30,000 + babies born. Our providers include 5 REI physicians, 1 MIGS specialist, and 1 PA-C with a goal of continued growth. Our nurses are an integral part of our team and we are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals committed to helping our patients meet their family planning goals.
We are currently recruiting a Certified Surgical Tech to join us at our Midwest Fertility Care Center located in Carmel, IN. The position will be PRN up to 8 hours per week within the following: Clinic days and hours are Monday thru Thursday 7:30-4:30 and Fridays 7:30-1:30; rotating weekend coverage consists of Sat/Sun mornings 7-1:00 pm.
Essential Functions:
- Checking schedules and organizing patient flow to help minimize wait time and efficiently communications delays to patients.
- Collecting patient history and assisting Provider with various procedures and screenings.
- Relaying instructions to patients/families and providing pertinent information.
- Sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/X-ray reports and hospital notes to provide Provider with complete patient history
- Completing forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and claims can be properly billed.
- Setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols, cleaning exam/procedure rooms and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, maintaining and cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program, and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
- Demonstrated ability to confidently perform job duties as described above by using education and training to make quality decision in their scope of patient care.
- Can inspire trust and confidence in patients and represent Axia in an ethical, positive, and inspiring manner.
- Can provide excellent customer and personal services, including patient needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of patient satisfaction.
- Adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standardized quality control methods and, per infection control protocols, preparing exam/procedure rooms between patient visits, cleaning rooms, setting up instruments and equipment, and maintaining and cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program.
- Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assisting as needed with walking transfers or dressing.
- Maintaining patient records by accurately recording patient medical history, obtaining, and recording patient vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications, etc., and obtaining and scanning any lab or imaging reports, as well as any hospital notes into the EMR in order that the provider may have complete patient information.
- Assisting provider with various procedures and screenings.
- Relaying instructions and pertinent information to patients.
- Completing forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and that claims can be properly billed.
- Adhering to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.

Education & Experience:
- Education from a Surgical technician program or relevant experience as a surgical technician; Pass CST Program and provide certification
- Current CPR Certification required
- Successful ability to work with teams across the business to maximize the impact of the overall business effort
- A minimum 1- year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a surgical technician with evidence of internship completed in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center preferred
