Applications are invited for the post of Preterm Inclusion Education Fellow (ST5+ equivalent) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
There is 1 full-time positions available fixed term for minimum 12 months (with the potential to be extended). We are seeking someone ST5+, to start as soon as possible.
The Preterm Inclusion Education Fellow will be based in the preterm team at St Thomas' Hospital, developing a training programme for all resident doctors, obstetric consultants and select Band 7 midwives working within the Maternity Assessment Unit, to assess cervical length in women presenting in threatened preterm labour.
The post will be a full-time equivalent to ST5+ level in obstetrics and gynaecology at GSTT working within the Directorate of Women’s Services. All duties are undertaken with suitable senior support.
The post-holder will deliver the training programme described above, whilst also facilitating patient and public engagement through co-production of people with lived experience to develop resources to then use to educate staff and ascertain how delivery of care on the shop floor can be improved.
Communication and inter-personal skills are very important in this post and the post-holder will be expected to exhibit the highest possible standards in communication with patients, their families, consultants, junior medical staff, midwives and nurses since multi-professional team-working forms the foundation of our patient focussed service.
