Olds Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Surgical Processor position. The Surgical Processor performs a variety of tasks associated with the sterilization and reassembly of hospital supplies, equipment, and surgical instruments in accordance with established Alberta Health Services’ standards and practices. You will be responsible for Collecting, sorting, and dismantling soiled instruments and equipment then decontaminating and reassembling instruments and equipment used in patient care. As a Surgical Processor you will Inspect, sort, assemble, test and package operating room instrument sets ensuring all instruments are fully assembled and functioning for end users. Description:
As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and able to lift up to 20lbs Ability to stand for long periods Effective communication is vital within the department Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 months to 1 year of MDR experience Experience with orthopedic, urology, gynecologic and obstetrics surgical instruments.
